New LNG valve orders secured
Bestobell LNG, the leading UK based manufacturer of cryogenic valves specifically for the upstream LNG industry, has received new orders for its fire-safe needle globe valves to supply a further 10 LNG cargo carriers. This means that over the last 12 months, Bestobell LNG has received orders for in total thirty LNG vessels and has already delivered 7 of these on time.

The 10 new cargo carriers are being built by DSME for QatarGas Shipping. Andy Brown, Director of Bestobell LNG comments "The needle globe valves are used on the sampling and purging lines and have replaced the ball valves that were traditionally used for this application. The Bestobell needle globe valves are more suited to the application, they are lower cost than the equivalent ball valve and, being from Bestobell LNG, are always delivered on-time! For these reasons, more and more ship owners and ship builders are fitting these valves."

In addition, on these 10 ships Bestobell LNG have also won their first orders for their exciting new product, the Float Level Isolation Valve (FLIV), that replaces the current solution (a horizontally-mounted cryogenic gate valve) on the top of each of the on-board storage tanks. The FLIV (patent pending) has been specifically designed for the application and delivers improved performance and reduced operational costs, crucially eliminating the current problem experienced on many LNGC's of tape cutting, caused by the guillotine action of a gate valve.

Both products are examples of how Bestobell LNG is applying the 40 years of cryogenic valve experience at Bestobell Valves to address issues in the upstream LNG industry, improving performance and reducing operating costs.
