PRESS RELEASE - 27th January 2007

New Cryogenic Globe and Check Valves for LNG Cargo Carriers
UK based cryogenic valve manufacturer Bestobell LNG, has introduced a new range of cryogenic globe and check valves to compliment the company's existing range of float level isolation valves and miniature needle globe valves employed for sampling and purging on LNGCs.

New design considerations by the company have been incorporated into the development of the cryogenic globe and check valve package used in the cargo manifold. For example, the valve design takes into consideration thermal expansion and contraction to provide a tight shut off from -176 to +40 degrees centigrade. The casting design has been optimised to improve cool down times while still meeting the relevant design codes and standards.

Bestobell has over forty years experience in the design and manufacture of cryogenic valves enabling Bestobell LNG to introduce to LNGCs new ideas and products designed specifically to improve performance, reduce costs, or do both.

Andrew Brown, director of Bestobell LNG comments "We are now offering the complete cryogenic Globe, Check, Float Level Isolation Valve and Miniature Needle Globe Valve package for the cargo manifold, following encouragement from both ship-owners and ship-builders who have been working with us. We have received orders over the past 18 months orders to supply 30 LNGCs and have benefited from the shortage of cryogenic valve suppliers who can be relied upon to deliver quality product on time to the shipyards. "

"Once in service, ship-owners can be confident that we will be there to support our products. Bestobell LNG is committed to developing a world-wide network of service support to provide maintenance on our valves when the LNG cargo carriers are in dry dock. " "We are passionate about on time delivery and have an excellent track record of achieving this within the LNG industry. Our valve manufacturing and IT facilities in Sheffield and Hull are set up to enable us to continue delivering on time. For these reasons, we hope that more and more ship owners and ship builders will be benefiting from Bestobell's 40 years experience in cryogenic valve design."

Bestobell LNG is a division of the Flow Group Limited, a British valve manufacturing group with annual sales approaching $50M, that specialises in supplying valves to the global energy industry. Other businesses in the Group are Shipham Valves, Bestobell Valves, Conflow and John Mills Valves. Like Bestobell LNG, Shipham Valves is a significant supplier to the LNG industry, supplying large quantities of gate, globe, check and ball valves for handling sea water to LNG liquefaction plants and regasification terminals.
